Rudimental
Rudimental is a British band with an eclectic range of sounds coupled with a positive message for their fans. The four young men who make up the group are Piers Agget, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden and Leon Rolle (DJ Locksmith). They share a common biography of growing up in a diverse East London environment, and draw on these early influences as they produce music ranging through dance, soul and pop. Rudimental's first single was "Deep in the Valley", which was released in 2011. This was followed by the 2012 release of the lead single from their debut album "Home". With vocals by John Newman, this single, "Feel the Love", reached number one on the U.K. Single's Chart. The second single from that album, "Not Giving In", also featured vocals by John Newman and also placed on the charts. The vocals of Ella Eyre on Rudimental's next single, "Waiting All Night", helped propel the group back to the number one spot on the UK Single's Chart, and when the parent album "Home" was released in 2013, it was a shining success. "Home" broke at the number one spot on the U.K Albums Chart. It was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize and received "Best Album" from the MOBO Awards in 2013. In 2014, the BRIT award for Best British Single went to "Waiting All Night". Rudimental supported "Home" with a tour that included a sold-out schedule in the U.K. They have also appeared at festivals around the world, such as the Made In America Festival in the United States, the Future Music Festival in Australia and the iTunes festival in London. The members of Rudimental count Lauryn Hill, Nas, and Sly and the Family Stone among their influences. They have collaborated with Steely Dan and George Clinton, and have toured with Ed Sheeran.
