Indiana
Indiana formed in 2002 and was active until September 2007. The band was formed from the remnants of a previous band (Dom, Matt & Ruban) with the addition of Parri in early-2002 and completed by the joining of Barney on vocals in mid-2002. The band's sound was an epic and melodious mash of indie, post-rock, folk and Americana - big vocals, three guitar line up and thumping rhythm coming together to create a huge live sound. Over five years together the band released five EPs, a live album and one single release in 2006 - the epic "I'll Be Your Guide" recorded between their own studio and Abbey Road, and was released in aid of local Watford charity Peace Hospice (caring for people living with a life limiting or terminal illness and supports their families from across South West Hertfordshire). The band were picked up by a management company in early 2006 and began being touted to labels big and small.Early gigs centred around the South West Herts/London scene but over time expanded to shows all around the UK. The band were a consistent feature of the festival circuit (O2 Festival, Rhythms of the World, Bournemouth Live etc.), played a live session for the BBC, were in the national press (even featured in OK! Magazine...), received airplay on local radio, internet radio in the UK, local/internet radio in Australia & college radio in the US. During their time together, Indiana also supported: The Honeymoon, Kasabian, Basement Jaxx, Mohair, The Bluetones, Art Brut, Hey Negrita, The Subways and The Deadstring Brothers. The band changed management in mid-2007 and after a string of UK dates over the summer of that year, the members decided to bring Indiana to an end. Former Indiana members are now in the following bands:The Brights (Matt, Drums)Broken Mile (Dom, Guitar)Evi Vine / Nadine Khouri (Ruban, Guitar)
