Die
Established in Salt Lake City in early 2008 by local synth-punk band MUNG and industrial-noise band Sex Socket's keyboardist and songwriter J. "Bunnie" Dreher, Ignotis Oris was created to promote a couple songs that had been recorded in a small apartment storage room. Unfortunately, the computer running the DAW crashed with all the original tracks; all that was salvaged was the pre-production exports. After relocating to Bellingham, WA in June of that year, and focusing on work with local band DDF (The Dark Dance Floor), the project was re-launched under the moniker D.I.E., with the intention of starting a band in the spirit of MUNG. After a few jam sessions with local musicians, D.I.E. has since been a solo project. Due to circumstances beyond control, DDF had to be abandoned and D.I.E. had to relocate back to Salt Lake City. Upon arrival, Esoteria was formed with vocalist Ben Holman; D.I.E. has continued as sort of a side project, working on whatever may not fit into the industrial-metal sound of Esoteria. Heavily influenced by early Industrial and Punk music, Electronic music of all sorts, human nature, and leftist political philosophy, D.I.E. has become an experimental canvass with an educational motive. D.I.E. is a needed excape from the despairs of modern life.
